Principal Consultant

Young leads our defence and security advisory practice, focusing on risk intelligence for public‑private partnerships. He is deeply attuned to military affairs, defence policy, and regional security dynamics—including great‑power competition in the Indo‑Pacific, hybrid warfare, and spillover risks from flashpoints such as the South China Sea, Myanmar, and the Korean Peninsula.

Before co‑leading Forefront Vision Consulting, Young held roles in critical infrastructure protection at a national utility company, intelligence and risk analysis at a global risk consultancy, and defence analysis at the Ministry of Defence, Malaysia. He provides scenario‑based risk forecasting for clients in energy, shipping, and government, helping them navigate complex security environments with clarity and confidence.

Ethan Iris

Senior Consultant

Iris heads our economic and trade advisory practice, as well as regional market intelligence. He specialises in ASEAN’s macroeconomic trends, financial markets, and trade economics—tracking currency movements, FDI flows, and the implications of RCEP and CPTPP with precision.

His expertise extends to commodity price dynamics (palm oil, semiconductors) and Malaysia’s evolving role in global value chains. Iris works closely with clients to translate macroeconomic shifts into actionable trade and investment strategies, ensuring they stay ahead of regional opportunities and risks.

Marcus Howard

Researcher

Howard specialises in Asian geopolitics, with deep knowledge of Malaysian domestic politics, ethnic dynamics, federal‑state relations, and Malaysia’s foreign policy—particularly the South China Sea, ASEAN centrality, and relations with China and India. He brings demonstrated expertise in scenario planning related to political transitions and bilateral tensions.

As a researcher at Forefront Vision Consulting, Howard leads multiple remote projects for international clients, delivering rigorous analysis that helps organisations anticipate political and geopolitical shifts before they materialise.
